This post is for the category sustainment.
We have listen more than a time that we are “neither engineer neither architect”, and this is not beautiful to listen when your ass is red for the time you stay sit in your work position.
I don’t know you, but I’m tired to be stopped on the street by people who say “you are not neither meat neither fish”. I think we have to ask respect, we have to say to the entire world that the paella is a good meal inviting everyone to taste it.
At the moment, waiting to demonstrated on field our value, we can, or better we “must”, disclose the importance of our professional image mentioning what, some estimated man, say about relationship between engineering and architecture. For begin I put down the world of a man who isn’t a “everyone pincopallino”. Thank you Mies, we miss you.
“Visualization of space must be supported by structural knowledge.
Design without structural knowledge will result in dilettantism.
For this reason we make construction a prerequisite to architectural planning.”
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe
Dear Mies, when I smoke my first Cuban cigar I didn’t know who you was. There are some years that I don’t taste that hot and dense smoke with an irresistible aroma coming from a large cylinder of tobacco. Maybe one day I’ll smoke a cigar again, sitting in my own chair.
One last thing: someone have to answer to who say that Mies and Tinto are brother or the same man. No! this is not true! Please don’t make of all the grass a beam ok! Thanks for your attention.
